Rebuilding and Refinishing There isn't anything that cannot be done to a piano. Any piano could be remanufactured from the ground up. From soundboard replacement, pin block replacement, restringing and rescaling, action rebuilding and redesign, hammer replacement, damper and damper under lever rebuilding and refinishing., we have a modern shop with well made hand and power tools for accurate workmanship. Also, it is important to consider if the cost of the rebuild exceeds the value of the piano after the work is completed. Our experience in appraisal will help you decide on your course of action. Concert Preparation For Concerts we like to confirm that the piano has been recently and competently regulated to the fine specifications desired in concert performance situations (including string leveling and squaring hammers to strings). In addition, we see to it that the piano is tuned and voiced within 4 hours of the concert itself and/ or after the pianist has had their final rehearsal. Tom will stand by off stage to be readily available for the Artist in the event of urgent care (e.g. broken strings), thereby, allowing them to relax in confidence and put their entire concentration on the task ahead. Appraisals, Estimates and Evaluation There are many reasons you may want a written appraisal of your piano's value: whether for insurance, shipping insurance, purchasing or selling purposes, a written appraisal will provide a solid basis for the piano's value. Also, to determine if an instrument is in tuning and playing condition, a 45 minute verbal appraisal is available at a lower cost.
